Iberostar Paraiso Mar and Paraiso Beach have 9 restaurants between the two parallel resorts. Lindo guests may eat at the Seafood, steakhouse, and the Tex-Mex restaurant at the Maya, but not the Japanese teppanaki or the French. Reservations can be made in advance for the entire stay at the concierge located in every building. Unlimited reservations are included at any of the Lindo, Mar, and Beach resorts. Iberostar Paraiso Lindo has 5 restaurants: Italian, Oriental, Buffet, Gourmet (Intl), and Cajun. Unlimited reservations are available at any resort. Iberostar Paraiso Maya has 5 restaurants: Seafood, Steakhouse, French, Tex-Mex, and Japanese teppanaki. The mystery of Iberostar dining is finally answered below. The Iberostar Paraiso Maya has top shelf liquor and Mexican beer (Dos Equis XX and Corona). All of the rooms have 24 hour room service, DVD player, 2 person Jacuzzi in the bathroom, and a fully stocked minibar (beer, water, soft drinks) which is replenished every other day. suites are located in the two buildings closest to the beach. The only difference between the two is location. The two room categories are Run of House Jr. There are two room categories at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya. The resort is very active and there were lots of people on the beach. The main difference between the two is a few dining options and that all of the rooms at the Maya are junior suites. The Iberstar Paraiso Maya is parallel to the Paraiso Lindo and they share the same common areas (pool). There is a fully supervised kids club, which is open 10AM-5PM for kids ages 4-12 years old (private babysitters available for $10 per hour for 1-2 kids). It is huge, and it has a large wave pool (open 11AM-5PM). The water seemed rough when I visited, but I was told it is normally calm. The resort has a very nice beach with white sand, turquois water and walkable. There is a disco open from 11PM- 3AM for adults and a teen disco open 1030PM to 1AM. The lobby at the Paraiso Maya is very impressive with Mayan decor and a full sized replica of the pyramid of Chichen Itza. There are 5 Iberostars located on the same complex with a large convention center, a PB Dye designed golf course, a shopping center, and a full service spa (30 treatment rooms). Took us half the week to figure out how to get the shuttles/golf carts but most would pass us without stopping. The Iberostar Paraiso complex is located 10 minutes north of Playa del Carmen about 40 minutes from the airport. Transport - the place was huge with multiple lobbys and no one explained it at all to us. Then they all of a sudden wanted to help us. Why do i need to pay more to get the room i booked? The entire trip they treated us like we were below the members, golf carts wouldn't pick up, the wait staff ignored us until near the end of the week when they realized we tip. We told them, and they said if you pay more through a timeshare you get better rooms. Rooms - these were outdated, tiny 2 double beds not queens as per what we booked, filled with little bugs everywhere and half the outlets didnt work. Then one of the rooms was supposed to be king but he gave us all 2 doubles and told us when u book with expedia your room type is not guaranteed. At least iberostar helped us get a reliable transport back.Ĭheck in - the person at check in was trying to charge us an extra $500 usd to get our rooms together. This was both expedia and iberostar that was to blame. Which is bad enough, but there was no communication so we didnt know til we got to the airport then we are scrambling to get a ride, spent another hour waiting to get picked up, no clue if we were being scammed, if the ride was safe or legit. Started with no shuttle from airport to resort. So this is my second iberostar trip this year and likely my last.
